Even though my income went up, I wasn’t all that happy with where it came from…

Earnings Breakdown

AdSense: $4.03
NeverBlueAds: $72
Project Wonderful: $2.39
Pay Pop Up: $3.05
Network Marketing: $1,830
TOTAL: $1,911.47

(By the way, the numbers I’m reporting here are my net earnings…that is, after any expenses.)

Sure, I made almost $500 more than last month, but the thing that I’m not happy about is that it’s all coming from the network marketing that I’m doing with Carbon Copy Pro.

There are some negligible numbers there from AdSense and PayPopUp, those came from Awesomeology.com, from which I recently removed advertising except for a few affiliate banners which generated nothing. Since I moved the site to Wordpress.com, it’s almost impossible to put any advertising on it.

I’m making some decent money with Carbon Copy Pro, which is great, but I’m not sure that it’s sustainable so what I’d really like to start learning is affiliate marketing.

In the last few days of January I began some campaigns with NeverBlueAds, and netted $72. I’d really like to get that up to about $500 for February so we’ll see how that goes.

Hopefully I can continue the trend and set another new record for myself in February!

Nice earnings report Walt! Keep up the good work throughout Feb!

    Hi Walt,

That’s what I’m talking about. You should be very proud of yourself. I am thoroughly impressed with your progress. I am hoping to get my female friends to follow along in your footsteps. I even offered to start a competition. No takers yet. I’ll keep you posted.

Just remember Walt that if you keep working at adding quality affiliate programs that this earnings report is only going to keep getting better. From what you have said it shows you “know when to hold em and when to fold em” in terms of bad advertising ideas. Keep up with zacjohnson.com, shoemoney, and johnchow.com as they seem to be on the up and up with who is producing in terms of affiliate programs.

  4. Walt says:

    Thanks Andrew!

Deb - I saw that challenge on your blog…hope people step up, it can only be good for everyone!

Sports - Yeah, I really think that affiliate marketing is where it’s at. I really enjoy Zac’s blog, even more so than shoemoney and john chow. John makes a lot of money from affiliate programs because of how popular his blog is, whereas Zac can take a brand new affiliate offer, drive traffic to it with PPC marketing, and make money. No built-in audience required. That’s not easy to do, and it’s something that I’m trying to learn.

    Wow! Excellent job Walt!

Certain affiliate sites don’t really accept non-english blog. 8-(

  6. Sportsrmylife says:

Walt…I just found this tonight. Check out the site “wickedfire.com”. ALL about affiliate marketing!

  7. Walt says:

Thanks Sports, I saw that in Zac’s post from yesterday…I’ll check it out!

  8. Chris Brandrick says:

Hey nice one, keep at it.
Would you say Carbon is worth the $49 asking price?

  9. Walt says:

Chris, it’s actually two thousand dollars….$49 is the application fee. And I certaintly think it’s been worth it. I’ve more than made my investment back in just two months.

  10. Mike says:

Congrats on the great progress that you are making. 3 months in and you are well on your way to freedom.

    Well Done Man

  11. Oleg Aksenov says:

I guess Carbon Copy membership costs way more than $49. For $49 you get some booklet and DVD. It is there to filter out tire kickers. There are further fees, I believe in thousands of dollars. I am personally not a member, but this post got my attention as well so I went a little further to find out more about the program.

  12. Walt says:

Oleg, there ARE further fees. If you look two comments above you, I said that the total cost is around two thousand dollars. If you’re interested in learning some more you can check out my Carbon Copy Pro blog

    Walt,

My heads off to you regardless of what you are earning or not. It takes courage, and determination to do what you are doing of pursuing the American dream of self-sufficiency. No one who reads your blog (which I do regularly) should judge your success based on how much money you took in for a particular month. You’re a success for having the courage that thousands of timid souls will never have. Secondly I for one appreciate the fact that you share your lessons with the rest of us. Most of the other internet marketeers would charge money and not deliver one-tenth of the useful lessons you are providing. In fact, I’ve read about 30 books on making a living from the internet and currently monitor about 10 blogs daily. The vast majority of them have one purpose, which is to get the rest of the unsuspecting world to subscribe to their rehashed warmed-over content. Can’t tell you how many people are out there peddling the old “create public domain products” etc…gig as the mainstay of their internet business. Secondly, I’ve issued challenges to many of the so called major internet money making players to provide me with tangible results when compared to other systems and only one even answered my e-mail but to his credit, he was honest in his reply. I’m not naming names but they are all well known. If someone can’t or won’t answer their own e-mail but profess to have a great system, what does that tell you? Anyway, keep on keeping on, as they say. Be sure to keep notes. Your story would make a great book(and for a change, offer real world proven advice) when you get to the top, which you will!

    To your continued success,
